In a bizarre collaboration that breaks conventional forecasts, Ubisoft has revealed an digital partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, providing no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.

Strange Adventure Disclosed

According to the official release, "A strange confrontation draws heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a original mission, where hints of forbidden ceremonies and terrifying changes resonate through the darkness." The plot features a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who tasks the duo with journeying into the Crystalline Cavern—a key location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her ally from a hidden group.

The adventure focuses on "bizarre tests and a terrifying enemy" and is accessible to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.

Iconic Locations and Changes

The preview features the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was formerly where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The teaser finishes with a striking sequence showing a character, probably the captive, transforming into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.

Unique Items and Extra Content

Players who successfully complete the quest will receive an unique katana in addition to numerous items secreted throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also includes premium Attack on Titan item packs, including:

• Titan-themed outfit for Yasuke
• Mikasa attire for Naoe
• Unique arms
• Survey Corps vehicle

This update also introduces the game's newest no-cost story addition, titled "A Puzzlement." This humorous quest partners Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange distinctive techniques: Naoe debuts a theatrical interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-lethal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Mystery" also features a fresh environmental puzzle that may eventually shed light on some lingering questions from the main storyline.
